Sports We Teach
Multi Sport Clinic
Single Sport Clinic
Your child will have great fun while learning the basic rules and skills of soccer that will lay the foundation for a lifetime of enjoyment of the sport as a player and fan. We teach the fundamentals of dribbling, kicking, and shooting, and they’ll learn how to play their favorite positions, including goalie.
Our basketball clinic teaches the fundamental skills necessary to excel in basketball: dribbling, passing, shooting, defending, footwork, team offense and defense. They’ll learn the basics and nuances of different positions. Each player will develop with both individual drills and team play in a safe, supportive, and non-competitive environment.
Flag Football: This is an excellent way for beginning and intermediate players to learn the game they see on television. We focus on exciting drills and activities that refine fundamentals, teach the rules and emphasize sportsmanship. We strive to provide a safe, fun, and challenging program to strengthen character and confidence. We teach players to catch, throw, and play defense.
Our players learn all the fundamentals of T-Ball/baseball as well as the rules and nuances of how to play the game. Clinic sessions teach throwing, hitting, fielding, and running to prepare children for team and league play.
Your child will learn all the fundamentals of volleyball as well as the rules and basic strategies of the game. They’ll learn to bump, spike, and play great defense in preparation for games with friends and family on the beach or on teams in their local rec leagues.

About Coach Ivan
I have always loved sports of all kinds. I loved to play them as a kid and still love to play them today. I love to watch them both live and on TV. And, as I have learned over the last eight years since my son Josh (now ten years old) first began playing organized sports, I love to coach them. I didn’t realize when he started to play on his first T-ball team how much I enjoyed working with kids. I connected with them and the parents in ways that felt right, and before I knew it, I was coaching Josh’s teams in sports every season throughout the year.
Countless parents have told me that players on my teams see me as one of them, a big kid who loves to play. They connect with me and are comfortable with me. I communicate well with kids and have a lot of patience. They can sense that I enjoy playing sports with them and have a lot to teach them. They also know that make learning fun.
Until recently, I was working at a job to provide for my family but was not fulfilling my own ambitions in life. I would still help Coach Josh’s teams but it was very hard to juggle around work schedules with game and practice times. I noticed it was taking a toll on my coaching and the quality of my time with Josh. One day it just hit me: why not do what I love and teach young children the sports that I love? Why not help kids develop their own talents and appreciation of sports that will last a lifetime? So, I created Little Big Athletes to offer kids of all ages – but particularly those who have yet to find their way into school clinics, individual instruction, and group play dates that would expose them to sports in a non-competitive environment and help them develop their comfort and skills in playing sports.
I have a wide range of experience from which to draw, and I want to use it to help you and your kids to a bigger and better future in sports of all kinds.
“Wow! What a party! Thank you for making Matthew’s party so special. It was truly a magical day for all of us. The last year has had it’s ups and downs, moving & leaving friends, yet starting a new adventure. However, Matthew’s party marked the moment when we realized we have finally made a home for ourselves and have made some good friends. I can’t even begin to tell you what a difference you have made in Emily and Matthew’s lives. They are so much more confident, empowered, and strong. It’s so cool to see what an impact sports can have on kids’ self-esteem. For the party-goers, Matthew’s friends had so much fun- what a party should be about 🙂 Thanks again for all that you have done!”
“We are very grateful for your sports program and your great coaching.
Brandon has been able to excel wonderfully, he is showing great sportsmanship from your coaching and ability working with the kids. He has been able to play well with the younger kids, helping them out and play great with the older kids, doing a great job keeping up. He is learning how to be a team player and show his potential as a very good athlete in a variety of sports. We are looking forward to him being a part of the Little Big Athletes for a long time.”
“Coach Ivan has done a great job introducing my kindergartener to playing different sports at his school. He’s very approachable and makes sure the kids are all having a good time.”
“My 5 year old step son, Deegan, absolutely loved playing basketball with Coach Ivan! He had never played a sport before and was (still is at times) very uncoordinated. We didn’t want to put him in a full sports program because we weren’t sure how he would do, or if he would even like it. Little Big Athletes provides a great alternative! The children get a short course in the sport and learn the basic skills needed to play. In the beginning, Deegan was very lost and confused. He wasn’t sure what he was doing. On the 3rd week, he was practicing dribbling and bounced the ball too hard. The ball came up and knocked his first tooth out! It was pretty comical. By the end of the course, Deegan started being able to dribble and walk with the ball at the same time! We are definitely going to enroll him in the other programs the Little Big Athletes offers so that he can choose which sport he likes the best.”
“Hi Coach Ivan – I wanted to share some thoughts on the program after talking with the kids.
First both kids (Luke & Stella Shipman) love participating!! Every time a flier comes out announcing a class they immediately want to sign up.
Our daughter is definitely the more athletic in the family but her brother loves playing sports as well. He tends to focus on more individual sports so seeing him enthusiastically want to participate in group/team sports is wonderful. He even said that while he seems to get his flags pulled pretty quickly in flag football he is still having a good time. Your approach really seems to resonant with the kids to want them to continue to do their best even if sometimes the best isn’t the same as the other kids.
We love being able to encourage our kids to learn new sports & to focus on what they really like. As a parent I love being able to encourage my kids to take part in group/team sports. I like them being able to learn what team work is in a very hands on approach. I also appreciate that while they are still learning they are not feeling bad for not being the best. Taking away some of that pressure for my kids helps them to not to want to give up if something becomes or appears too hard or difficult.
I am excited for your journey as a fulltime Coach. I’m sure taking this chance was a big decision but to me when we find that one thing that is work but doesn’t feel like it the risks are worth it. We find ourselves pushing ourselves to be the best because we believe in what we are doing.
We look forward to our children’s continued participation with Little Big Athletes!”
